Eighteen years. Somehow, Courtney and I have been friends for eighteen years. It’s kind of amazing. We share all these milestones together. First car, first kiss, first breakup, graduating high school, graduating college, getting engaged, getting married, buying houses, and now having babies. I can’t imagine these moments in my life without Courtney by my side cheering me on, or with a shoulder to cry on. She’s the best of the best. Her hubby Tom is one lucky guy, and baby girl Abby is so lucky to have her as a mama.
I love this session because of the subjects first and foremost. But I also love this session because just about every image you see here is film! If you know me or follow me on Instagram, you probably know that I am adding more & more film in to my portfolio. Film gives images a depth, a life, a richness, a little something that you just can’t put your finger on. I try to make my digitals look like film, and it’s just not quite the same. It’s still incredibly beautiful, and I’m not retiring my Mark IV any time soon, but you can bet I’ll be using my Pentax more! Can you tell which are film and which are digital?
Court & Tom, I’m so excited for you two. You’re going to make amazing parents. Thank you so much for trusting me to capture these memories for you. I can’t wait for your newborn session. Tom, I know that you are just as pumped as I am for it:)! Love you both! xo
